The work's hidden.
The record isn't.

In Alberta, only a Master Electrician can pull an electrical permit. I've been one since 2015. So every job I do leaves you something the work itself never can — a permit, an inspection, and a name on both.

The crab on the truck is a real man's name.

I'm Mark Crabb. I started wiring houses at sixteen, while I was still in high school, and went full time the year I graduated. Journeyman in 2008. Master Electrician in 2015.

I was born and raised in Lethbridge and most of my family is still here. That's not a marketing line, it's just the reason I can't afford to do a job badly. This is my town.

Ask any electrician if you need a permit.

In Alberta, an electrical permit can only be obtained by a Master Electrician holding a Certificate of Competency from the Safety Codes Council. Not a journeyman. Not a handyman. Not the guy with a van and a good price.

Which means when somebody quotes you cheap and tells you the permit is optional, they're often not choosing to skip it. They can't pull one.

I can. Every time. It's the least interesting thing I do and it's the only part of my work you'll still have in ten years.

What you keep after I drive away.

The wire goes in the wall. The panel door closes. From that afternoon on, you have no way of knowing what I did in there — and neither does the next buyer, the home inspector, or your insurer.

So you get the paperwork: the permit number, the inspection date, what went in, and who signed for it. Filed with the city, and a copy for your drawer.

Every electrician in this town will tell you they do good work. I'd rather hand you the thing that proves it.

Twenty-four customers, surveyed by somebody else.

I don't collect my own testimonials. Gemstone surveys my customers directly and publishes what they say, whether I like it or not. Here's the whole card.

The only circuit you'll ever show off.

Gemstone was invented in a Calgary garage in 2016 and now ships to more than 300 markets across North America. Permanent architectural lighting — tucked into the eave, invisible by day, any colour you want by night. No ladder in December, ever again.

I'm an authorized Gemstone dealer, and I install it in the province that invented it.
